Select a geographic area and/or select a theme | Environmental and Social Impact Assessment CONTEXT OF THE PROJECT In the context of the Darnah blocks exploration in Libya, Sogreah Magelis performed an Environmental and Social study on behalf of Total E&P Libye. The study comprised an Environmental and Social Baseline Survey and an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment.
SOGREAH MAGELIS’ SERVICES For the Environmental and Social Baseline Survey,
Sogreah Magelis inspected the study area, carried out an inventory of
flora, fauna and archaeological sites and assessed socio-economical
issues within the permit area. The Environmental Impact Assessment was performed in compliance with the Libyan legislation and international standards of the IFC and the World Bank. Protection measures were proposed for water supply, wastewater discharges, soil erosion, air emissions, solid wastes, noise, protection of flora, fauna, archaeology, the socio-economic environment, etc. An Environmental Management Plan was prepared in order to give practical guidelines on the proposed measures.
