Audits, hydrogeological assessment and inventory of potential sources of contamination CONTEXT OF THE PROJECT
Bora Bora belongs to the archipelago of the “îles sous le vent” in French Polynesia. The supply of quality drinking water represents a true challenge for the Pacific islands. The weakness of the resource, associated with the ever growing needs of the population and a tourist sector in full expansion, motivated the collectivity of Bora Bora to set up the actions and tools necessary to the protection of the resources.
SOGREAH MAGELIS’ SERVICES After the development of the sewing system and the diversification of the means of production, Bora Bora now set up a protective area of its wells. The specific geological context of the island had required to define the perimeters of a close protection with the cartography of vulnerability of the resources, the geological hazards and the pollution risks. Protected areas of 16 Water wells distributed around the island were mapped.
For this project Sogreah Magelis worked in partnership with PTPU Tahiti. |
